This afternoon we had another midwife appointment & once again, all is well & good. The little one is still head down, deep in my pelvis & I've been having lots of contractions.
It's all a matter of trying to be patient at this point.
During the appointment we also discussed ways to prepare my body for labour -- things like drinking raspberry leaf tea (which I love & have been drinking for a couple weeks now) and taking evening primrose capsules (which are going on the shopping list). She also mentioned we could try having intercourse & that the female orgasm can be very helpful with getting things started because of all that nice oxytocin. I'm starting to think the end of pregnancy is rather nice, considering you get prescriptions for things like tea, flowers & sex.
Just nine days til my due date, mes amis.
When do you think our little one will grace us with her presence?

My guess is, she'll keep you waiting... not too long, but maybe just one day late...
=)
I suppose I could handle just one day -- I hope she's not too much of a tease ^_^
Recently stumbled across your blog :) I'm loving it! Good Luck with the baby, I'm rooting for you.
I must say Fawn, you do pregnant terribly well (mostly because you let yourself enjoy it!), ah, always so inpsiring stopping by here!
@matilda: I'm glad you stopped in ^_^ Thanks for the support!
@thewindhover: Awe, well thank you! I figure you have to enjoy it -- I know most of my friends with babies say at some point they definitely miss being pregnant, so I figure I'll get the most of it while I'm here.
Thanks for checking in ^_^
Thanks for stopping by my blog! My daughter (who is my first) was born the day before her due date :) I felt like she was long overdue, but I guess she was right on time (I guess they always are).
I think I could deal with 7 more days ^_^ Hopefully she comes soon -- a friend of mine is 9 days over due & I'm not sure I could take it!
I do love the suggestions for hastening the onset of labor! Sounds like fun to me. Someone sent me a list of things you can do that included those and swinging on swings hiking...all sorts of fun stuff.
I am guessing she will be a few days early. If she is late, she should be born on my birthday (Jan. 26) because it's a good day! Haha.
If it wasn't SO CHILLY outside (eeep -20) I would definitely go and find a swing set or do some hiking!
It also seems that I know a LOT of late January birthday people! So many of my friends want her to be a little late so she's on their birthday, haha :D
I can't wait to see your little one. I'm excited and I just arrived at your blog today.
I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to give you a little advice. =D Don't be in a hurry for her to come. Be thankful that you're having so many BH contractions! Those will make labor so much easier. The longer you have them, the easier it will be. (This coming from the mom of 5 who was never in labor for more than 2 hours from start to finish)
Good luck - I hope she shoots right out. =)
Thanks for the advice, Chris! I will definitely try & be patient -- I'm so glad I'm having all of these BH contractions. I'm pretty sure my body is going to be good at this whole labour thing ^_^
