I originally took this photo to try & capture my very sleepy little robot girl, but since it also highlights a bit of my newly found cleavage I think I'll talk about that.
I remember when I was 9 years old & my best friend (who was a year older than me) got boobs. I remember her telling me that 10 was the age that you got boobs & I couldn't wait for that year to finish up so that I could have some too. Nearly fourteen years & a pregnancy later, I finally got my wish.
As a teenager I was annoyed with my tiny breasts -- it just didn't make sense. I came from a family of rather chesty women, yet I could barely fill an A cup.
It wasn't fair.
It took me years, actually, to come to terms with my little breasts & love them for what they were. I could secretly smile about the fact that they would always remain perky & would probably never end up in my lap. I could get away with no under wire -- hell, I often didn't wear a bra at all (much to the chagrin of my double d amis).
When Ryan & I decided to have a baby I started looking forward to the pregnancy breasts that everyone talk about. They never came. It wasn't until my milk came in (a couple days after Gretchen was born) that they started to look a little fuller (and even then the right side was filling up much faster than the left).
At just over five weeks postpartum I have no idea what size they are but they are certainly more than an A. They might be more than a B (when full, at least).
I think they were just waiting. Waiting until they could do what breasts are meant to do (though I'm hoping they'll stick around for good).

Did you get to keep your breastfeeding/pregnancy breasts? Or did they disappear?
What effects did you experience when your children weaned?
And to my small breasted mommay readers, how was your breastfeeding experience?

Haha this was cute. In all honesty.. I find it creepy when the boob is like bigger than the actual baby. I watched some "home birth" video on youtube and the mom's boobs were HUGE and the baby wasn't latching on, I was like no wonder, the baby's prob thinking "what the hell is this? it's bigger than me!" I haven't had a baby so I'm not sure if they stick around or not. I know when I took this one birth control they got bigger, then when I went off it, they went back down, that's the best I got, lol.
That's awesome! You mentioned your right filled up faster than your left -- did they even out? I am currently CHRONICALLY lopsided. I was an even C cup with both breasts pre-regnancy and grew to a DD in pregnancy (my left breast filled them up, my left breast was lagging and probably a D). I am not into large breasts so this was not appealing to me. Once my milk came in, my left breast went up to what looks like a DDD and my right breast stayed at a D. My right breast makes maybe 1/4 the milk that my left one does, as well. I am trying everything (pumping extra on the small side, starting every feeding there until empty) I can to get the smaller one up to size, and it has only been a week since my milk came in so I hope it works. I bought a silicone bra insert just in case it doesn't ;)
I had the ones way bigger than baby's head. Uncomfortably big. But I have learned that not everyone reacts the same way. Mine are actually smaller now than they were before I ever had children, but they did even out (they used to be radically uneven), so I'm okay with it. However, if my friends are any indication, there's no telling: for some they shrink, for others they permanently grow. Sorry not to be of more help.
heart: while I don't find it creepy, per say, I am amazed by women who are carrying those breasts around -- mine feel so heavy when they are full, I can only imagine what they are feeling :)
red: they have evened out! once I started taking the domperidone (this helps to increase milk -- I was having issues with supply which I'll write more about one of these days) they both plumped right up ^_^ but yes, for a while my right breast was much bigger & much more full than the left :)

i had a small c cup when i got pregnant. while i was breastfeeding they went all the way to a large d. unfortunately they have all but shriveled away after we weened. i'm now a b. :(

sorry "creepy" was the wrong word to use, but to clarify the boobs weren't bigger than its head, they were bigger than its entire body, haha. Yeah I can't imagine lugging those things around, much less filled with milk.
I was really upset when my pre-pregnancy DDs inflated like balloons on steroids while breast feeding. I knew they would get bigger but I didn't think they would get THAT big. I cried. I admit it.
Luckily they went down to Ds after breastfeeding and while one is still a bit larger than the other (always has been been) they're even enough to not make bra shopping more difficult than shoe shopping for my size 12 feet. :/

I so love your blog! You are too funny! I totally know where you are coming from: when I got my period, everyone said my breasts would grow. That was a decade ago (I got my period at 17) and well, I've given up waiting.
When I got pregnant, everyone said my breasts had a chance of growing. They never did.
But after going to a pr event for playtex, I found out that even small breasts can sag, especially after childbirth!
It's so important to wear the right post-baby bra and nursing bra, even for mosquito-bite boobs, as I call mine.

I miss my small A breasts from 10 years ago... After 3 pregnancies and nursing 3 kids, they look like you would expect them to look. It is hard to come to terms with it, but I feel oooookay about the way I look. It's a constant struggle. I didn't get too much sagging after my first, but major stretch marks. It's not the size of my breasts that bothers me now. It's the texture.

I can't help but respond to this! I had tiny pre-baby boobs too. Barely an A cup. And again, they didn't really get much bigger in pregnancy. But then, breastfeeding! While I was breastfeeding the twins they were huge (well, comparatively speaking!). I breastfed them for 20 months by which time I was expecting number 3. He is 18 months now and has milk at night time so they're back down to an A cup and I have no idea what they'll look like once it's all over.
Covered in stretch marks though. Still, I find it hard to care! I'm proud that they are responsible for nourishing my three little people :)
Twenty months is awesome! I hope I can do that too :D
I don't really care about how they are looking now -- they aren't huge or anything, but they certainly have more presence than before!
