Yesterday I was away from Gretchen for the first time.
Previously I have tried to leave Gretchen with her dad but at the last minute I always throw on the sling and say, "um, ok I think I'll just bring her with me", however, I figured that since I'm going to be taking my jewelry course in a couple weeks, I ought to practice leaving her without having a mental breakdown. So, yesterday afternoon, my mother & I went to the grocery store for about 1/2 hour and Gretchen stayed home with her dad.
I think I did alright.
I only called home twice.

Oh cuteness! Baby steps indeed :) Hopefully it will get easier, but this first time sounds very sweet - I love that this is the case, and that I can see the love you have for your little one! :)
