Dream Realization In Its Purest Form

The details have been worked out, the plan is in motion and this Fawn is very happy to announce that after having talked about this for over a year she is finally going to take a jewelry fundamentals course! I will be learning basic metalworking & jewelry making skills from a fabulous woman whose work I've admired for a while now. The course will be starting on the 23rd of April and will run for ten weeks. I am so excited to learn, create & finally acquire the knowledge to physically manifest the designs that have been swimming around my mind for such a long time.

Oh how I have dreamed of this day.

I also find myself in a very fourtunate position. A close friend of mine has a beautiful workshop & a lot of jewelry making knowledge and is going to mentor me, in a way. It will be such a treat to have access to studio space until I can fashion something of my own at home.

I'm getting chills just thinking about cutting into that first piece of metal, soldering my first joint & completing my first piece.

I have kept quiet, mostly, about this for quite some time and I think only Ryan understood how desperately I wanted to take a course like this & being to create in this way. I'd been researching a much more intensive course in Haliburton, Ontario, but with my new little Gretchen, and the cost/location/time frame of the course, it was becoming quite obvious that it wouldn't be an option... at least not for a while. THANKFULLY I have found a way to start my metalworking journey right here in my hometown, in the heart of downtown. Sigh. It's meant to be.

This Fawn is grinning ear to ear as her dream begins to take form.

Congratulations! Sounds amazing. I used to make necklaces and such with my mother, she sold them and I helped as much as I could. My mother's not really in my life anymore and I treasure those few pieces far more than you can imagine. I'm sure that Gretchen will love the pieces I'm sure you'll make for her for when she's older!
