Today you are ten weeks old & it's incredible to think how much you have changed. You look more & more like your father everyday (though I still think you have my lips).
Since I last wrote to you, you've learned so many new things. You smile a lot now. You smile when we talk to you & when I walk into the room. You smile at you dad in the morning & you smile when I make silly sounds at you. You are also starting to laugh a little baby laugh -- right now it's an emphatic exhalation, but I know what you're trying to do & it is so charming.
Your head control improves everyday and your neck is so strong. Sometimes I think that you want to grow up faster than your body will allow since laying down doesn't really float your boat anymore & you'd much rather be sitting or standing in mama's lap.
Don't grow up too fast, baby girl.
You love your swing, your bouncy chair, mobiles, being worn, being read to & being kissed by the dog. You enjoy baths & snuggling up on the couch to watch Friends with mama.
You are getting to be more vocal & you are often practicing your gurgling and vowel sounds.
This month you had a little fever that made mama very worried, but you recovered within a day like a champ. After a few doses of children's Tylenol (the dye free kind, thank goodness) you were back to feeling fine again. It was such a relief to see my happy baby smile after being so sad for twenty four hours.
You have also experienced many firsts this month (which I'll have to prove to you with photos since you like to sleep through all sorts of events) such as your first parade, your first trip to the zoo, your first wagon ride at the sugar bush & your first outing to the farmer's market.
I am also very proud to have been breastfeeding for ten weeks too. This makes for a happy mama.

Every day is a new adventure & every waking moment you are wide eyed, taking it all in.
We love you very much, little Gretchen. Keep growing & keep smiling.
With love,
Mama.
