Gretchen travels well. She's is excellent in public, at restaurants, in crowded rooms & in any situation where behaving like a baby is somewhat socially unacceptable.
I chalk it up to babywearing & the boob.

Mine is constantly out with me! He's 2.5 now, and yes, the boob/babywearing used to work. :O) Now it's "real" milk, Annie's Honey Bunnies, crayons, and cars. He's pretty easy!
Our baby girl is excellent when we go out as well- although I've quickly realized that taking the stroller everywhere I want to go is hellish. Babywearing would definitely be easier!
If she needs to be calmed at all I can usually just hold her or let her stand on my legs, she loves it!

Argh. I'm so frustrated with L.A. This is a driver's land, and my babe hates the car. She's great in public if I wear her and bounce (and it helps that I'm willing to breastfeed her anywhere), but the car ride there can be so awful that I'd rather not go. I'm hoping it's a faze.
Awe, Gretchen USED to be alright with the car but now she's rather fuss and scream. Poor babes.
Thankfully I don't actually have a car and we get to walk places. THAT makes a happy babe.
