Tomorrow afternoon Ryan and I are going on our first date since the little miss came into our lives.
We're going to go watch Transformers while my mother watches Gretchen. This is the first time we'll be away from her together.
I will try not to call home during the movie, whispering conspicuously in the theatre while people shush and scrunch their faces up at me.
I will enjoy myself and the company of my (gorgeous) man while watching things blow up for 2 1/2 hours.
It will be fabulous.
It will also buy me another few months of not leaving her -- even if that makes me a freak.
And I'm a-ok with being a freak.

I haven't been able to leave Baby Lu with a sitter either (unless you count leaving her with Daddy while I go for a run. It might be easier if we had family nearby, or anybody I felt comfortable leaving her with.
Yeah, Gretchen has only been left with her daddy & my mom. I just don't feel comfortable with anyone else :)
Have a great time.....last week the children stayed over at Grandma's for the night for the first time. It was the first time we had been alone in the house for 3 1/2 years! I couldn't wait to see them both the next morning. It's good thing to do..have a great weekend. xx
I hope you have fun! We still haven't gone on ours yet. I am not sure I am ready. maybe I will be in another month when she is Gretchen's age :)

If you are a freak, then I am a super freak. I can't remember how old Dacey was when we went on our first post baby date, but she was a LOT older than Gretchen!
And we just went away for our first adults-only trip for the first time since we had kids and Dacey is 4 1/2! I just don't like to be away from my kids. Sorry. Wait, no I'm not. ;)
I phoned my mother the very moment I stepped out of the theatre -- even before I went pee (which I needed to do very badly).
I told her we'd be home in 10min and to get driving!
