Let The Teething Begin

This afternoon we were visiting a friend and, while Gretchen was chewing on her hand, she noticed a little rough spot -- a tooth! Sure enough, her little bottom right tooth is just starting to peek through the gums.

This explains her sleep patterns being a little off, and it may also explain her pulling at her ears the past couple days (though I'm calling our doctor tomorrow to make an appointment, just to be sure).

I'm actually shocked that teeth are happening already -- the friend who we were visiting has a 10 month old with just two teeth, so I had it in my mind that I had some time before Gretchen grew into a chomping machine.

So far she's been kind and hasn't been biting too much when we breastfeed. I'll cross my fingers that she stays gentle.

She's growing so fast!! I'm in awe, really.
Complete awe... every moment, of every day.

I know it's prolly silly of me, but i'm DREADING teething. I mean, it can't be as bad as having a kid who never develops teeth, right? But still...
By the way, she's beautiful.

So far she hasn't fussed much about it -- knock on wood. I know some babies are just miserably upset the whole time -- I hope NEITHER of our babes have to go through that!

*sigh* I'm still waiting for my little man's first tooth. He's almost 10 months!

The blink of an eye, isn't it? She's at an AWESOME age. Enjoy it and chew on her all you can.

My sister's daughter's teeth rubbed against her nipple and over time made part of it come off. Look out! ):

Victory! I bet that is exactly why she is pulling at her ears. Ava has been doing that too, and her ears looked fine at the doctor. She has been teething furiously for weeks -- I hope we see ours soon, too!

Oh my! A tooth! We've been teething furiously over here but still nothing has cut through Bea's gums. Every day now I check.
