Soaking It Up

Gretchen's naps are often taken on my lap, laying across the nursing pillow after having a nice long drink.

She drifts off, I write, edit photos or do research. Sometimes I'll indulge in an episode of Gilmore Girls. I'll sip my coffee. I'll nibble my oatmeal.

She will sleep alone on our bed, but often wakes in the transfer. Sometimes it's easier to leave her where she lays and enjoy some quiet time.

Stroking her hair.
Patting her back.
Breathing her in.

She'll only want to sleep in my lap for so long.

So I'm going to soak up every moment.

Oh good gracious.
She's an angel.

Very precious. I miss those days (though my co-sleeping days aren't over yet, so there's that).

Thank you Mrs Plume! Beautiful sentiments.

Sabra -- Thank goodness for cosleeping. I couldn't imagine her not beside me during the night.

I really miss these days with my daughter. I feel saddened that she weaned during my pregnancy. she still asks to nurse sometimes. I let her but she isn't pleased. A part of me hopes she will tandem nurse with my next baby.

This is so sweet!! Sam won't sleep in my lap anymore. Every so often when he's really tired he'll doze off in my arms. Enjoy every minute!

Gretchen's sweet little face, in so many ways, reminds me of my own little Lucia's. They are so perfect.

L is just a wee-bit younger that G. She was born March 9, 09. I always come by and see what G is up to and know that L will soon follow in her foot steps. We are now sitting up, for example.

Are you breastfeeding?

Awe, yay! Once they sit up everything changes -- all of these changes are so fabulous!

And yes! We're going on 8 months of breastfeeding and we love it!
