As of today, we have been breastfeeding for ONE YEAR, with no signs of stopping! I have officially kept my resolution made last January.
Our nursing career got off to a rough start, but despite all of our issues, we stuck it out & I believe it's one of the most important things I've ever done in my life. My innate stubbornness paid off in the end & I'm thrilled!
Thank you to my best friend for supporting me 100% and helping me out when I was so frustrated. Thank you to my partner, who was at my side the entire time, who believed in me & guided me through my frustrations. And thank you to baby G, who never gave up & is now a bonafide milkaholic.
A year & beyond!
I'm really not sure what my stance used to be on 'extended nursing', but I really can't see us stopping any time in the near future.
Two years? Three year? I'm game. This breastaurant is open for business.

Kudos to the lot of you for persevering!
Great job! You're really giving her an amazing gift =).
Wesley weened himself when he turned one! I was all ready to keep going, and did try my best to, but he was done with it. It made me sad. :(
bravo...both my kids weaned themselves. Jude at 11 mths (i think my milk changed because i was newly pregnant) and Delia at 15 mths. Often, especially with Dels i wished i was still nursing during the the difficult toddler years but alas they were ready when they were ready.
I am with you! Stopping is no where near our path so far. I love nursing, and so does Ava! Congrats to you!
Congrats and good job.
And let me just say "breastaurant" ROFL!!!!!

Yeaaah! Well done mama (& dada!) Happy birthday little lady :)

(Oh and I love your ring in the fourth photo:)
Happy Birthday to baby G!
Thank you friends!! You've all been here for me this year too & so I give you my thanks as well.
Thank you for believing!
I truly believe breastfeeding is one of the most important gifts you can give your baby. My son had enough by the time he was ten months and I began weaning my daughter at eighteen months, I wanted to sleep through the night. They were both very healthy toddlers best of all neither of them ever had an ear infection. Your daughter is very lucky.
I am proud of you! It was hard for me and Drew and I hate to admit it, we gave up. So, great job for sticking with it!!
