Who I am... My name is Désirée Fawn. I'm a single mama, born and raised in Ontario, living with my beautiful daughter Gretchen (born at home, 01/29/09), one cat, and a Boston Terrier named Winston.

What I love... I'm a tea-aholic with a forearm to prove it. I'm a self-proclaimed birth junkie, currently practicing as a doula and I absolutely love it. Chocolate makes me happy, especially Reese Cups, and you can win my heart with a pint of stout. I still live in the same city where I was born, and sometimes I think I'll never leave. I'm Twitter obsessed (follow @sofawned!) and in a codependent relationship with my iPhone. I love taking photos, am a terrific parallel parker and I have degree in Philosophy and Cultural Studies which I'll probably never use. I have a not so secret desire to someday live in an intentional community and my homesteading urges are hard to ignore. I believe in the strength of women and in simplistic, everyday beauty.

Fact: Though many believe it to be, Fawn is not my last name. Actually, my last name is nearly unpronounceable which is why I don't bother you with such things. Fawn is my middle name, and my daughter's too.
